Torus Cooling is a young and innovative company active in -among others- the cooling of hydrogen at fuelling stations. Our innovations originate from the search for our customers in lowering energy consumption, keeping the integrity of their tubing while cooling their product (for i.e., pressure, non-homogenic or sanitary reasons), a low ΔT (temperature cooling ≈ temperature out, so a far lower energy consumption) and a compact build. Besides cooling of hydrogen, our products are being used in chemical, food and pharma applications with lower TCO a dominant reason for choosing for the Torus Cooling solutions.
The heart of our cooling concept consists of a globally patented heat exchanger used for the interstage cooling during production and one (or two) heat exchangers used for the dispensing. In the dispensing our concept currently covers the ranges T40, T30 and the T20 protocols making it suitable for continuous supply to cars, vans, trucks and other utility vehicles. It can simply be re-designed for other applications, i.e., hydrogen powered vessels as ferries. Our company isn’t limited to solely building the heat exchangers: we manage the build of the total cooling system as a modular building block for hydrogen fuelling stations. Over the years we have successfully built the cooling technology in hydrogen fuelling stations with our partner customers covering Northern Europe. Proof-of-Concept shows we save approx. 32% energy vs traditional solutions.
